Search Console and e-commerce SEO, in detail.
Search Console: Google's report card for your site
Google Search Console is the free tool where Google tells you how it sees your website: which pages it has indexed, which ones it skipped and why, which searches you appear for, your average position, and how many people click through.
Most store owners either never set it up or set it up once and never look at it again. I set it up properly, check it regularly, and turn what it says into a short list of fixes.
Setup, verification and sitemaps
We verify your whole domain, connect Search Console to Google Analytics 4, and submit your XML sitemaps so Google can find every product, collection and article. We do the same in Bing Webmaster Tools, because Bing's index also feeds AI assistants like ChatGPT search and Copilot.
- 1Verify your whole domain
- 2Connect GA4
- 3Submit your XML sitemaps
- 4Same again in Bing Webmaster Tools
- Feeds ChatGPT search
- Feeds Copilot
Fixing indexing problems
The Page indexing report shows which of your pages Google has left out and why: crawled but not indexed, duplicate without a canonical, blocked by robots.txt, redirect errors, soft 404s and more. Online stores often have hundreds of thin or duplicate URLs from filters, variants and old products.
We work through these reasons in order of impact: making sure your important pages are indexed, and the unhelpful ones are consolidated or kept out of the index on purpose.
- Crawled, currently not indexedImprove & link
- Duplicate without canonicalConsolidate
- Blocked by robots.txtCheck intent
- Redirect errors and soft 404sFix
- Your important pagesIndexed
Search Console shows the symptoms. We trace each one to its cause and fix it.
Search performance and keyword reports
The Performance report shows the searches people use to find you, with clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position. We look for the most useful opportunities: queries where you already rank on page two, pages with lots of impressions but few clicks, and products that should rank but don't.
Each month you get a plain-language summary of what changed and what we're working on next.
Structured data and product results
Product structured data helps Google show your price, availability and reviews directly in search results. We check your product, breadcrumb, FAQ and organisation markup, fix the errors Search Console flags, and make sure your products are eligible for Google's merchant listings.
On-page SEO for products and categories
We improve the pages that earn money: product and category titles, meta descriptions, headings, descriptions, internal links and image alt text, written around what buyers actually search for. We also watch page speed and Core Web Vitals, which Search Console reports for real visitors.
- Title buyers search for
- Helpful description
- Headings, alt text and links
- Meta description
- Fast images and Core Web Vitals

Common e-commerce SEO problems we fix
Online stores share the same SEO problems: filter and sort pages creating thousands of near-duplicate URLs, out-of-stock products returning errors, category pages with no text at all, product descriptions copied from the manufacturer, and old URLs left without redirects after a redesign or migration. Search Console shows the symptoms; we trace each one to its cause and fix it.
- Filter and sort pages creating near-duplicate URLsConsolidated or kept out of the index
- Out-of-stock products returning errorsHandled properly
- Category pages with no text at allUseful category copy
- Descriptions copied from the manufacturerYour own descriptions
- Old URLs left without redirectsRedirects added
SEO for marketplaces and AI search
Search visibility isn't just Google any more. Your products also need to be found on Amazon, Walmart and eBay search, and increasingly by AI assistants that recommend products. Clean product data, clear descriptions and structured data help on all of them, so the work we do for Search Console also supports your marketplaces and AI search.

Common questions.
Yes. Bing's index also feeds AI assistants like ChatGPT search and Copilot, so I set up both.
Yes. It's a free tool from Google. You just need to verify that you own the website.
Google visited the page but decided not to index it yet, often because it looks thin, duplicated or low priority. Improving the content and internal links usually helps.
Technical fixes can show within weeks. Ranking improvements for competitive terms usually take three to six months of steady work.
Yes. Shopify creates your sitemap, but Search Console is still where you see indexing problems and search performance.
Search Console shows how you appear in Google search before people click. Google Analytics shows what they do on your site after they arrive. You need both.
I can plan and coordinate content that targets the searches your buyers make, written in your brand's voice.
